The Shift Within
Me…
The silence whispered truths untold,
It cracked the armor I had worn.
Each piece that fell revealed the weight,
Of years that left my spirit torn.
I saw the life I’d left behind,
The dreams I buried deep in sand.
They called to me, a distant hum,
That urged me now to make a stand.
The ground beneath my feet grew soft,
As though the earth would shift with me.
I stepped ahead, though fear did cling,
To all I thought I’d never be.
A thousand doubts still held my hand,
But I released them, one by one.
Each step a battle, fought alone,
But still I rose to meet the sun.
I felt the light upon my skin,
A warmth I hadn’t known for years.
And with it came the simple truth,
That change begins when we face fears.
The past became a shadowed place,
A distant land I once called home.
But now the road ahead felt wide,
With every step, I walked alone.
