For years, I had embraced my role as a waitress with dedication and unwavering commitment. Yet, the demands of the job were accompanied by an unremitting push to constantly say “YES”. Senior colleagues leaned on me for extra shifts and additional tasks, and my longing to excel mingled with my fear of disappointing them. The struggle was real, and it began to take a toll on my mental health.
Days turned into nights, and the line between my professional and personal life blurred. The constant “YES” were turning into a never-ending loop that left me emotionally drained and struggling to find balance. The very role that I had once enjoyed was now causing me mental distress. And therefore, I made a choice that would change my trajectory.
