I was born with a hunger,
A deep-seated need,
A longing that could not be named,
In the silence of the womb.

In the whispers of the stars,
That I couldn’t yet see,
Unconditional, they said,
A word too large for me.

It echoed in the wind,
Danced on the moonlit waves,
In the quiet of the night,
And in the brightness of day.

I found it in the warmth,
Of my mother’s embrace,
In the steady beat of her heart,
As I lay on her chest.

It was in her eyes,
Soft, gentle, true,
A love that held no bounds,
A love that always grew.

I found it in the smile,
Of my father’s weary face,
After a long day’s work,
His love never displaced.
