In the shadowed days of October’s gloom,
A tale of sorrow, a heart’s impending doom.
We stood apart, and yet, we heard the cries,
As terror reigned, and tears filled countless eyes.

An eerie dawn, the world forever scarred,
With souls in anguish, dreams forever marred.
We saw the pain, the heavy hearts they bore,
While we, in safety, heard their cries no more.

Imagined how it felt to face the gun,
To dance with death until the day is done.
To never see the warmth of another sun,
Their lives extinguished, destinies undone.

Innocence, lost in the dead of night,
As ruthless footsteps brought eternal fright.
The echoes of the shots, the silence reigned,
A haunting silence, where no hope remained.

We were spared the anguish, the despair,
But in our hearts, their burden we must bear.
For in their tragedy, we find our call,
To stand as one, to lift and break the fall.
