Dear Plane Flights: This Medium Poem is For You
Amidst the bustling terminal’s vibrant crowd,
We stand, a mosaic of dreams and destinations,
Each bearing a ticket to traverse the boundless sky,
United in the anticipation of flight’s embrace,
But within the metal bird’s belly, excitement wanes,
Reality unfolds in cramped confines,
Seats a touch too narrow, legroom a distant luxury,
Babies’ cries pierce through the cabin’s hum,
Innocence colliding with discomfort,
Their tears a poignant reminder of life’s unpredictability,
To find respite in the restroom’s sanctuary,
We navigate a labyrinth of bodies,
A ballet of apologies and awkward maneuvers,
Water from the tap offers a tepid reprieve,
In the cabin’s dry air, a fleeting comfort,
Coughs and sneezes intermingle,
A chorus of vulnerability,
Shared breaths in this communal space,
Yet amidst discomfort, connections bloom,
In shared glances and knowing smiles,
