Life may not let me choose my lot,
But whether I’d be happy or not…
That’s my call, isn’t it?
A quiet voice inside, waiting for me to listen.

To leave hurtful memories behind,
Or let them fester,
Haunt the corners of my mind —
The choice stands, quietly mine.

A mistake lingers, shadows my thoughts,
But should I dwell,
Or learn from it,
And move forward with lighter steps?

What they say, echoing harshly in the air,
Do I let their words become my truth?
Or brush them aside,
And follow my own steps, unshaken?

Feelings knotted up,
Heavy in the silence,
Should I keep them locked?
Or speak and unburden my heart?

To treasure what I’ve gained,
Every little bit of joy,
Or to turn away,
Unseeing, ungrateful… that’s mine to decide.
