I’ve been staring at the ceiling,
Counting cracks that weren’t there before,
Lines etched by time, by us,
By the things we no longer say.

I’ve tried to hold on,
To the ghost of what we used to be,
But I’m tired now,
So tired of pretending.

There’s a hollow ache,
A silence between us,
Thick and suffocating,
It wasn’t always like this.

I remember when we laughed,
When your voice was my comfort,
But now your words feel distant,
Like echoes in an empty room.

I see the way you look at me,
With eyes that no longer shine,
We’ve become strangers,
Lost in a love that’s run out of time.

The first crack was small,
A sharp word, a broken promise,
I ignored it, hoped it would heal,
But it spread like a wound.
