As someone who identifies as an introvert (a conclusion that’s probably evident given I write and own a cat), the implications of this trait might warrant clarification.

It’s important to clarify that being an introvert doesn’t equate to disliking people or avoiding enjoyment.

Rather, it signifies that social interactions drain my energy, whereas for extroverts, these interactions act as a source of energy.

The workplace often appears to favor extroverted qualities.

Social prowess translates to enhanced networking, stronger connections, and increased face time with supervisors.

Conversely, a significant portion of my time is spent working independently, crafting pieces like the one you’re presently engaged with.

Prudent Preparation for Common Inquiries

A strategy I frequently employ involves anticipating commonplace questions. When confronted with predictable queries such as “How are you”, “How’s it going?” or “What are you currently working on?”, my responses sometimes fall flat. Rather than offering engaging insights, I might resort to vague replies like “the usual” or “work.” These retorts do little to bolster my professional standing.
